Woe to the workman who keeps on saying, “Tomorrow, or after tomorrow.” And woe to the merchant who swears, “By God and by God.”

Among the treasures of devoutness is concealing the misfortunes that befall you.

Whoever harms a non-Muslim under Muslim protection, I shall be his adversary.

He is not a liar who makes peace between people and says “May it be good!” or wishes good.

He is not blind whose eyes are blind. The true blind person is he whose inner sight is blind.

If someone tells every prattle that he hears, it is enough to consider him a liar.

Speak the truth even if it is bitter.

May God bless the one who is concerned with his own faults, and not the faults of others.

Secret acts of charity quell the Lord’s wrath.
